Version 18 offers both the ease and simplicity for the new operator and the advanced capabilities that experienced operators need and want. Features include the ability to rapidly nest parts with a new Transform toolbox, Mirror, Translate and model/drawing Rotation. Other features offer the ability to open multiple viewing windows that are associated. Dynamic Rotation/Pan & Zoom, Special Modify Mode editing functions and the new UCS/User Coordinate System allow you toability to rapidly switch planes for drawing and making fast editing changes. Version 18 offers the Action/Object – Object/Action approach to drawing and editing moves giving you ultimate flexibility. DXF & IGES file translators are enhanced and added as a standard as we understand that many shops are not interested in switching CAD systems, but still need editing and verification functions along with the CAM. Job Shops, Tool & Die manufacturers, Mold Makers, Custom Fabricators and anyone else producing parts with a CNC Machine will find that the automatic “Generate NC” functions of the Version 18 CAD/CAM software will effectively cut down up to 25% lead time on CNC jobs. Version 18 CAD/CAM was developed for the manufacturing of both basic and complicated multi-axis parts. Customizable Drilling, Ridged Tapping and Boring cycles were added as some controls have specific requirements for these actions. Fast and accurate automatic NC/G-Code output can be accomplished for pocketing irregular shapes with islands, profiling, gear generation, hole patterns or complex surface toolpath. Version 18 is also a complete 2-Axis Lathe CAD/CAM system as well. Auto Roughing, Grooving, Slotting and Facing are all supported with built-in collision detection.
Manufacturing -
Cut multiple pockets at once, generate fast zigzag or spiral SKIN surface toolpath with added tool nose radius compensation built-in or use the projection function to project text onto a surface, just to name a few basic functions. Special Tool and Cycle CAM menus are added and available for you to customize as needed to meet your manufacturing requirements. RS232 Communications and DNC capabilities are also built-in and completely customizable. Pre-loaded post processors are installed. If your model is not available, we’ll build it for free! Version 18 offers many ways to reduce lead-time, manual-programming time and provides cutting options that many of the more expensive CAD/CAM systems offer for thousands of dollars more. Our price is not the main issue. The issue is cutting parts! The low price tag is simply an added benefit!

I just wanted to congratulate the staff and developers at BobCAD/CAM, for the outstanding improvements in the new version18 software! Here at Delgado Solutions, we specialize in prototype injection molds, as well as production CNC machining. When we first started using BobCAD three years ago, we had only one small CNC mill... We have now grown into two CNC vertical machining centers, a CNC plasma cutter, and a CNC lathe. So far we have posted over 17 million lines of G code with BobCAD. After logging nearly 5000 hours running BobCAD V17 (you just can't wear it out) we had created a wish list, of features we felt would greatly improve our productivity. I am pleased to say that the new version exceeds our hopes and expectations!!! The long list of new features is EXCELLENT!!! We are looking forward to logging in another 5000 hours, and are proud to be using BobCAD! Thanks again...
